A two day national level Chemistry festival, ‘Chem Cognizance-2k15’ was an event to be remembered for the students of the discipline who thronged the campus of Andhra Loyola College in the city on Tuesday.

A two day national level Chemistry festival, ‘Chem Cognizance-2k15’ was an event to be remembered for the students of the discipline who thronged the campus of Andhra Loyola College in the city on Tuesday. There were academic and cultural activities that marked the Chemistry festival that was inaugurated by the Airport Authority of India director GMS Rao.

Speaking on the occasion, Rao emphasized on the need for research and development and asked the students not to be satisfied at a point when coming to trying something new. He said that hard work and commitment will reap benefits and lead to a prosperous future of the students and institutions with activities like these would bring out the talent in them.

Students took part in model and cartoon display competitions on the first day of the event and attended the preliminary test to participate in quiz competition. During the session 2, along with rapid titrations and rapid analysis, just a minute (JAM), and group discussions were held. A preliminary for the paper presentation was also organized by the hosts on day one. The topic for paper presentation was given as Role of Chemistry in Bulk Drug Industry.

On the second day of the programme, finals of paper presentation, quiz will be held followed by valedictory and prize distribution. Correspondent of the College Fr S Raju, Degree College vice Principal Fr G A P Kishore, and Head of the department for Chemistry G Venkata Ramana spoke on the inaugural occasion. Students of the neighboring Colleges and other staff along with the organizing committee were present during the programme.
