Rampachodavaram (East Godavari): Vigilance department has confirmed that Rs 54.51 lakh has been misused in medical and health department in agency area. Project Officer of ITDA KVN Chakradhar Babu informed here on Thursday that cases were also booked for the recovery of the money from the staff including 13 medical officers, 21 senior and junior assistants who misused the funds.
A case was booked against a police constable in whose bank account Rs 2.1 lakh from these funds were deposited. As the misused funds were not recovered from the staff, he said that the High Court has ordered the District Medical and Health Officer and the regional director of Medical and Health Department to suspend 35 staff and file criminal cases against them.
He further said that DM&HO, R D have issued orders to concern polices stations to file criminal cases against Ravi Kumar who is working as Junior Assistant in Pidathamamidi PHC and GS Murthy who is working as Junior Assistant at Gurthedu PHC, BHP Kumar, working as Junior Assistant in RD office, JA Mahalakshmi, working as Junior Assistant at Vadapalli PHC and Kumar who is working as Senior Assistant.
