Ongole: The continuous delay in the survey and land acquisition for sanctioned Nadikudi Srikalahasti railway line irked the Prakasam District Collector Sujatha Sharma. An irate Collector directed officials to complete the acquisition in 10days at any cost.

The Nadikudi Srikalahasti rail line is the dream and expected to be the gateway for the financial development of people living in the western part of the district. The east mandals in the Prakasam district have the Chennai-Vijayawada railway line near to them and are utilizing it for the business as well as personal usage.

But the people of west Prakasam district do not have the privilege of a railway line and their demand for a railway line through Kanigiri, Podili, Konakanamitla, Pamur, Marripudi and other mandals is pending since decades. The western mandals of the district are known for the cultivation of Batavian and other fruits.
