Anantapur: Civil Supplies Minister Paritala Sunitha on Thursday asserted that the Telugu Desam government would always back the poor and Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has been striving to ensure people’s welfare. Naidu would honour all his promises made to the people.
Speaking during the third day of Jana Chaitanya Yatra at Kandukur, Akuthotapalli, Itukulapalli and Chinnakunta villages of Anantapur rural mandal, she enquired from the gathering whether they were getting the benefit of the welfare schemes. The Minister appealed to people to avail themselves of the benefits being extended by the government.
She said soon ration cards would be given to all. Those without LPG facility should apply and would be allotted Deepam gas connections. The villagers at Itukalapalli accorded a warm welcome to the Minister with women offering ‘harati’ and showering flowers. Sunitha unfurled the party flag in the village. She explained the welfare schemes to the gathering like loan waiver for farmers and DWCRA women, NTR Arogya Seva, pensions and Deepam connections. She handed over house-site pattas to 60 beneficiaries. The residents named the colony after Paritala Ravi, her late husband.
Residents of Itukalapalli appealed to the Minister to get the local tank filled with water from Penna Ahobilam Right Canal.
She said by Sankranti essential items would be distributed to people as ‘Chandranna Kanuka’, receiving petitions from the gathering. The Minister promised people that issues raised in petitions would be addressed as early as ossible. After inspecting a local tank and offering pooja, she said it was filled more than half with Penna Ahobilam canal. The balance filling would be done after completion of the Handri-Neeva project.
At Akuthotapalli, Sunitha performed ‘bhumi pooja’ to launch CC road work. She addressed a public meeting. At Chinnakunta residents sought sanction of Rs One crore for CC roads. She assured them to shortly get the road work done.
