New Delhi: The Special Representative of AP Government here, K Rama Mohana Rao, on Friday met Yogendra Tripathi, chairman of Food Corporation of India, to plead for relaxation in the norms of procurement of paddy - damaged, discoloured, sprouted and weevilled - from the farmers of East and West Godavari and Krishna districts whose crop was damaged due to heavy rains.

Pointing out that 1,69,914 hectares out of 7,13,714 hectares of sown paddy was damaged to the tune of 5.08 lakh tonnes, he urged for procurement without any value cut.
