Hundreds take part in RIL quiz

As part of educational support initiatives under Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), Reliance Industries Limited, in association with the District Education department, started district-level quiz competition to commemorate the 83rd birth anniversary of its founder chairman Dhirubhai Ambani on December 28.
Amalapuram: As part of educational support initiatives under Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), Reliance Industries Limited, in association with the District Education department, started district-level quiz competition to commemorate the 83rd birth anniversary of its founder chairman Dhirubhai Ambani on December 28.
This is the sixth edition of the RDAQ (Reliance Dhirubhai Ambani Quiz). The quiz programme was held at Amalapuram on December 1, Rampa Chodavaram on December 2 and Rajahmundry on December 3. As many as 300 students from 75 schools participated at Rampa Chodavaram and 550 students from 138 schools in Rajahmundry division in the preliminary round.
District Educational Officer R Narasimha Rao, while addressing the students here on Friday, stressed the need for them to participate in these kinds of competitions and appreciated the Reliance Industries for their support to education.
District Public Relations Officer M Francis, also lauded the efforts of RIL in providing equal opportunities to both government and private school students and advised all the students to take part in such competitions which enable them to face the future competitive exams.
In a gripping preliminary round, eight teams were selected in the written test. Based on the regional quiz, three teams each from government and private school streams made it to the semifinals. The three government schools, ZPHS, Chebrolu, Pillanka, D Polavaram schools and three private schools, Aditya Talent School, Akshara School and Aditya Srinagar, reached semifinals of the sixth edition of the competition, Reliance Dhirubhai Ambani Quiz (RDAQ,-2015).
These schools will take part in the semifinals likely to be held on December 24 in Kakinada.Ravichandran Nageswaran, head, Support Services KGD6 and Turlapati Viswanath, head P&C, Ramanamurthy, senior lead CSR, participated in the quiz programme. The CSR team with the support of 20 other members conducted the competition successfully. The quiz master for this competition is V V Ramanan.
