Visakhapatnam: A real estate agent G Chinna attacked and injured his friend, a wine dealer G Jagadish, at Neelamvepa Chettu under Two Town police station limits here on Friday.
However, Jagadish managed to escape with minor injuries. The locals caught hold of Chinna while fleeing from the area soon after attack and handed over him to the police.
ACP (East) R Ramana said that Chinna wearing a balaclava to conceal his identity, struck Jagadish from behind with the handle of the machete. Police said both Jagadish and Chinna were friends for a long time and Jagadeesh had invested money in Chinna’s real estate business. But they fell apart recently after Jagadish began pressurising Chinna to return his amount.
As pressure mounted, Chinna hatched a plan to attack him in a bid to terrorise him. Jagadish was shifted to a private hospital where his condition is said to be stable.
