Kakinada: Floral tributes were paid to Dr B R Ambedkar on his 60th death anniversary here on Sunday.
The programme was organised at the Collectorate by District Social Welfare department and SC Welfare Associations.
Addressing the gathering, Collector H Arun Kumar and Joint Collector S Satyanarayana reminded that the Constitution Day was observed recently in memory of Ambedkar and his death anniversary provided another opportunity to recollect the services of drafting committee chairman. They urged the students to follow the footsteps of the late leader.
They asked them to work for the betterment of society by promoting respect and love for each and every individual. Social Welfare Department Joint Director Sabah Rani recalled the services of the Architect of the Constitution Ambedkar by stating that the team headed by the latter framed the Constitution after studying the constitutions of different countries.
SC Corporation Executive Director Anuradha, representatives of SC Welfare Associations and others were present.
