Peddapuram (East Godavari): Ancestral gold jewellery weighing about 3 kilograms worth Rs 50 lakh was stolen in Peddapuram town of East Godavari in the wee hours of Sunday. According to sources, the incident occurred in the house of M Srinivasa Mutyalu in the market area of Peddapuram town, when the residents of house were in slumber.
Mutyalu and his family members noticed that gold jewellery that has been passed as heirloom was stolen and filed a complaint with the local police. Peddapuram CI, K Sridhar registered and sniffer dogs were pressed into service to fast track investigation.
