Vijayawada: MP Kesineni Srinivas inaugurated a mineral water vending machine on the premises of Vijayawada Railway Station on Sunday.

Speaking on the occasion, the MP said that the South Central Railway had opened 79 water vending machines in all the railway stations in the division.

The MP said that passengers could get one litre of water refilling at Rs 5 instead of paying Rs 20 per bottle. He asked the officials to conduct frequent quality tests to supply safe drinking water to passengers.

He said that he would make efforts to clear all the pending works in Vijayawada division and for new trains from Vijayawada. The officials said similar water vending machines would be arranged at all the platforms of Vijayawada Railway Station.

Jupudi Prabhakara Rao, DRM Ashok Kumar, ADRM Venugopala Rao, Station Superintendent Ch Suresh and others were present.
