Rajahmundry: Debashis Sanyal, Executive Director and Asset Manager of Rajahmundry Asset of ONGC led the employees in paying homage to Dr B R Ambedkar on his 60th death anniversary observed as Mahaparinirvan Diwas here on Sunday. Sanyal garlanded the statue of Dr Ambedkar on the premises of Base Complex. Later, employees paid floral tributes to the great leader.
Speaking on the occasion, Sanyal said Dr Ambedkar was a man of many qualities, a lawyer, an economist, a constitutionalist and a philosopher. “Among all, he is a distinct scholar and people’s leader in his own way beyond comparison. The youth has so much to learn and imbibe from the great son of India,” he added.
On the occasion, Sanyal flagged off free driving scheme under the Upadhi Darshini programme. Medical kits were distributed to college girls. These programmes were conducted under the auspices of All India SC/ST Welfare Association chairman B Prasad Rao, Rajahmundry unit secretary Kanneraju, Central Working president Vijay Paul.
