With eight people losing their lives at Krishna Lanka area in Vijayawada on Monday after they consumed illicit liquor, AP Government has taken action against adulterated liquor in the state by ordering closure of all wine shops in Krishna district.
Also, nine brands of liquor distributed in the region have also been banned. Apart from this, the police have arrested seven people who are connected to the issue and local Congress leader Malladi Vishnu's name has also surfaced in connection with the incident.
Meanwhile, the Collector ordered testing of the samples to be collected from all the shops in the district.
