New Delhi: The Central government on Thursday advised the Andhra Pradesh Government to hold talks with Odisha Government to amicably resolve the dispute over Polavaram Project.

The Union Minister of Water Resources, Uma Bharati told media persons that the Centre urged the AP Government to hold public hearing. “It is important that the national project is completed without any hassles. It is important that the issue is settled through talks. Tribal issues and land submergence are serious issues and AP should move forward on the same,” she added.

She further stated that AP Chief Minister, N Chandrababu Naidu, was experienced enough and was going ahead with the project work ‘beautifully’. “He is one of the most seasoned CM in the country, I am sure he can sort it out”, she said referring to the protests of the BJD members in the Parliament.
