Rajahmundry: A high-level judicial inquiry with sitting Judge of High Court should be conducted to probe into the call money racket, CPM politburo member B V Raghavulu demanded on Sunday.

He said stern action should be taken against the accused in this case and also the political leaders involved in the racket. Raghavulu demanded that the cases should be booked against the accused under Nirbhaya Act and other sections.

He called upon the government to seize the money that was collected by the accused and distribute it among the victims. Compensation should be paid to the families. He asked all the women organisations and youth to take up this issue and fight against such cruel way of torturing the women.

He came down heavily on the government for acquiring lands for Machilipatnam port and Bhogapuram airport. He alleged that lands which were forcibly acquired from farmers for capital Amaravati were being handed over to Singapore companies.

Raghavulu demanded that the government should come out with facts on whether the Swiss Challenge Method (SCM) is part of agreement that was entered between AP and Singapore governments or not.

He urged the Chief Minister to convene an all-party meeting on capital region development and construction of Amaravati or provide the details in the coming winter session of the Assembly.

He questioned the government if there is a need for bauxite mining in the State when aluminum has become very cheap all over the world.
