GVMC official is new chief for State Municipal Commissioners body

Visakhapatnam: G V V S Murty, Additional Commissioner of Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation (GVMC) will temporarily act as president of Andhra Pradesh Municipal Commissioners’ Association. A decision to this effect was taken at the executive committee meeting held here on Sunday.

The post of association president fell vacant with the resignation of V E Rajendra Prasad. The resignation was accepted in the EC meet. It was also resolved to conduct the association’s annual general body in Tenali on February 13, 2016 and till that time, Murty would work as president of the association. The meet unanimously passed 15 resolutions with regard to their long-pending demands.

The resolution would be sent to the government and to other State officials. Murty said that the Municipal Minister, P Narayana, will release the 2016 association diary in the first week of January. Association secretary Y Sai Srikanth, ex-officio vice-presidents P Asha Jyothi, K Ramesh, ADC (Fin) S S Varma, joint secretary V Ravindra and EC members N V Nageswara Rao, Viziangaram Municipal Commissioner G Nagaraju, GVMC Zonal Commissioners Ch Naaga Narasimha Rao and P Nallanaiah and others were present.
