Minister Sunitha says TDP govt wants to ensure welfare schemes reach beneficiaries

Anantapur: The Jana Chaitanya Yatras would ensure welfare schemes reached all eligible beneficiaries, stated Civil Supplies Minister Paritala Sunitha on Saturday.
Addressing a public meeting after touring Kodimi and Pamurayi villages in Anantapur rural mandal as part of the yatra, she threw light on the development programmes taken up during the last 18 months.

At Kodimi, while going round Praja Chaitanya Colony, the Minister sought to know from the residents their problems. She interacted with elderly women, asking whether they were receiving old-age pension. She called upon the Janmabhoomi Committees to work efficiently and to take the welfare schemes to public notice. Sunitha advised members of the Committees to enhance their awareness on the welfare programmes for public good.

The Minister stated that 257 residents of the village had applied for ration cards. The cards would be distributed from January 2 during the Janmabhoomi-Manavooru programme. She said loan waiver of 310 villagers with amounts of over Rs 50,000 would be taken up in a phased manner.

District secretary of CPM Yuvajana Sangham Anand and his 100 followers joined the TDP in the Minister’s presence. She called upon the party leaders and activists to strive united for achieving development.

Addressing a meeting at Pamurayi, Sunitha announced that 97 elderly persons of the village would be given pensions. About 85 residents had applied for ration cards, she said, adding that pattas would be sanctioned to the landless villagers.

Mandal in-charge Mahendra, MPP Madhavi Lata, ZPTC member Venugopal, mandal convener Lakshminarayana, MPTC member Janakibai, district Telugu Yuvata in-charge Pavan Kumar were present.
