Kurnool: The 45th Universal Postal Union International Letter Writing Competition for Young People will be held in the city on January 3, 2016.

According to a press release issued by Kurnool Postal Superintendent K V Subba Rao here on Friday, children below 15 years of age can participate in the letter writing contest. The topic is `Write a letter to your 45-year-old self’. Participants can write the letter in English or in any other language listed in the Eighth Schedule of Constitution and it should not exceed 1,000 words. The last date for submission of application forms is December 18. Cash prizes at national level will be awarded to the top three winners. Consolation prizes will also be given.

The best letter selected at the national level will be sent as an official Indian entry for the international-level competition. For more details, interested students can visit the postal department website www.indiapost.gov.in, he added.
