Addressing a press conference at Andhra Ratan Bhavan here on Sunday, Nehru came down heavily on Telugu Desam government for transforming Vijayawada as the centre for financial scams. He said that Vijayawada city earned good name among the corporate firms and industrialists after being designated as part of the capital Amaravati. A majority of middle families were the victims in the call money scam and instances of harassing women sexually were also came to light, he said.

The APCC leader took a dig at the ruling TDP leaders for developing greed over money and threatening the common man to pay high interests. He made it clear that the Congress would extend all its support to the government over the issue. He also challenged CM to prove his commitment to safeguard the women and victims by punishing the responsible. The Chief Minister should control his party men at least and reveal all the accused names in front of public for transparent investigation in the case, he demanded.

The DCC president, Kadiyala Butchi Babu, Youth Congress president Devineni Avinash and other leaders were also present at the news conference.
