Hyderabad: The government constituted a four member sub-committee for establishment of education city or hubs in the State. In this regard, the government issued a GO 50 on Monday appointing Academic Guidance Officer, Collegiate Education Dr R David Kumar as the convenor. While Sri Krishnadevaraya University, Vice-Chancellor, Prof. K Rajagopal, JNTU Kakinada, Vice-Chancellor, Prof. V S S Kumar, Rayalaseema University, Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Y Narasimhulu as members.

According to the GO, the team will hold consultations with experienced domain experts in establishment and running of institutions of reputation in higher education, and may incorporate their suggestions in the report. The sub-committee will also study the existing models of education cities.

The sub-committee will recommend a policy for land allotment, financing and development on PPP mode to develop common facilities like schools, hospitals, public transportation and communication, etc.

The sub-committee will also recommend on planning proposed layout for Silicon hub, R&D Hub, Sports Centre, Incubation Centre, Placement Centre, etc. All the recommendations would be put forward to government in consultations with departments concerned by December 25.
