The CPI State secretary K Ramakrishna here on Tuesday informed that series of agitations would be taken up against the State government if it failed to prosecute the accused under call money scandal noticed in the city recently.

Addressing a press conference at Dasari Nagabhushan Rao Bhavan, Ramakrishna came down heavily on Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu for his ‘inefficiency’ in taking stringent action against his Telugu Desam Party activists involved the call money scandal. He questioned why the Chief Minister remained silent on his MLA who had travelled to abroad with one of the accused V Srikanth few weeks ago. There were also reports came in to notice that cases of call money scam were also unearthed in Guntur and West Godavari districts, he said. At least now, the CM should withdraw his moves in diluting the case by forcing the officials to implicate leaders of other political parties in the episode, he said.
The CPI leader also took a dig at Chandrababu Naidu for transforming Andhra Pradesh as centre for financial scams, sand and liquor mafia in the State in his 18-month rule. He demanded the Chief Minister to conduct a judicial inquiry by a High Court Judge in the call money case investigation.
