Highlighting psychiatry in modern era

City-based VIMHANS Hospitals will organize a two-day ‘Telugu Pyscon-2015’ first psychiatrist’s meet of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana after bifurcation at Hotel Fortune Murali Park here on December 19 to 20.

Talking to the news men here on Thursday, Consultant Psychiatrist and Director, VIMHANS Dr Indla Rama Sudda Reddy said that the theme of the meet is ‘Psychiatry in Modern Era’. About 200 delegates from both the Telugu Speaking States would give lectures on various subjects of psychiatry.

He said before the inauguration of the conference, a preliminary session by Dr MS Reddy, Hyderabad would speak on Bhagavad Gita used to cure the psychiatric patients. AP Medical Council Chairman Dr Y Raja Rao and NTR University of Health Sciences Dr T Ravi Raju would participate in the inaugural session of the meet on Saturday, he said.

The VIMHANS Director also said that sessions would be conducted by marital therapist Vijay Nagaswami and sexologist Dega Narayana Reddy on ‘Kamasutra’. National Psychiatrists Association president Dr G Prasad Rao, South India Psychiatrists Association president Dr K Ashok Reddy, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana Psychiatrist Association president Dr P Raghu Ram Reddy would speak on the occasion.

A special live show ‘Manasoullasam’ will be conducted by the Cine Actor and writer Tanikella Bharani on December 20, highlighting the prominence of Telugu poetry and writings to mark the valedictory of the meet, he said.
