Energy conservation rally in Guntur
District Collector Kantilal Dande flagged off an energy conservation rally in the city on Thursday, as part of observance of Energy Conservation Week from December 14 to 20.
Guntur: District Collector Kantilal Dande flagged off an energy conservation rally in the city on Thursday, as part of observance of Energy Conservation Week from December 14 to 20.
Hundreds of students, employees and others participated in the rally, which passed through the main fares of the city. The participants shouted slogans in support of energy conservation and for creating awareness on the subject among the general public.
Speaking on the occasion, Kantilal Dande said that the Chief Minister was giving top priority to energy conservation and popularising it through encouraging people to use LED bulbs and also asking farmers to go solar by harnessing solar power for operating agriculture pump sets.
The State secured five national awards for taking steps to conserve energy. Because of the initiatives taken by the Chief Minister, the State emerged as power surplus State, he said.
