Sports day sees enthusiastic participation at Nalanda Vidyanikethan

The 18th annual sports meet of Nalanda Vidyanikethan witnessed a wide range of cultural events promoting the Indian tradition and heritage at the school premises on Friday.

Municipal Commissioner G Veerapandian, who was the chief guest at the event, urged the students to develop their sporting skills, which benefits them to achieve higher standards in their life on par with daily academics. He lauded the initiative of the school management for giving equal importance to academics as well as sports.

Track and field events like 100-mts run, 400x100 mts relay for juniors and seniors and Colorful Cakes and Rollar Roys for tiny tots were held besides an impressive display of karate feats.

School Prinicipal M Padmaja, presented the annual report, which epitomized the skills and talents of students during the academic year. The annual sports meet highlighted with various cultural programs include aerobic dance performed by the kindergarten children and cultural dance by secondary school students marked the occasion.
