Telugu students deprived of opportunity to write exams in Telugu in TN

Though the Madras High Court permitted the Telugu, Kannada, Malayalee and Urdu students to write the examinations in their mother tongue in 2016, the officials are not allowing the students.

Speaking to media persons on Friday, he said that over 1.9 cr Telugu people were present in Tamil Nadu state. The government of Andhra Pradesh failed to protect the interests of Telugu speaking people in Tamil Nadu and the officials of education department are not allowing the students to write examinations in their mother tongue on one pretext or other.

He said that though the Madras High Court permitted the Telugu, Kannada, Malayalee and Urdu students to write the examinations in their mother tongue in 2016, the officials are not allowing the students.

He said that Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu should intervene in the issue and should have a dialogue with TN Chief Minister Jayalalita to protect the interests of Telugu people.

He alleged that some Tamil association leaders are making derogatory remarks against Telugu people and threatening to damage the properties of Telugu speaking people.
