Tirupati: Responding to the state party call, the Congress activists staged dharna at Nalugukalla Mandapam junction here on Saturday protesting BJP-led NDA government’s vindictive action against the Congress President Sonia Gandhi and party’s Vice-President Rahul Gandhi in the National Herald case.Addressing the gathering, Congress party State Vice- President S Sailajanath said that the BJP unleashed a disinformation campaign in the National Herald case with a malicious intension of marring the popularity of Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi. The party also resorted to vindictive action by foisting false cases against the national Congress leaders, he said. Sailajanath made Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Ministers Arun Jaitley and Venkaiah Naidu responsible for launching false campaign against Sonia and Rahul.
However, Sonia and Rahul were not deterred by such false propaganda and decided to face the cases foisted on them, he said seeking the party activists unmask the BJP’s evil intension of mudslinging on Gandhi’s family.
The Congress district president P Venugopal Reddy, state party official spokesperson S Ashok Samrat Yadav and others also spoke.
