500 persons get screened under Power Mech foundation's medical camp

Power Mech Foundation in association with Kamineni Hospitals organised a free heart, neuro, ortho and dental camp in city on Sunday. Krishna District ZP Chairperson Gadde Anuradha, along with Veteran journalist Turlapati Kutumba Rao inaugurated the camp, which was held near Hotel DV Manor on Mahatma Gandhi Road.

Power Mech Foundation managing trustee Jawaharlal Nehru said that aim of the screening camp was to create awareness among the people to lead a healthy lifestyle. He said that many people in rural areas were ignoring heart problems due to financial problems and lack of awareness about the diseases. “The foundation will provide financial assistance for their operations,” he added.

Around 500 persons of varying age groups, some of them suffering from various health issues, attended the camp. A panel of doctors from Kamineni Hospitals headed by cardiologist G Mahesh, Dr Ch Pavan Kumar and Dr P Seetha Rama Rao and others conducted the tests. People were screened for diabetes, blood pressure and heart diseases. After the examination, many were given medicines at free of cost and many were referred to suitable hospitals for additional treatments, he said.
