CPI State secretary K Ramakrishna demanded that Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu should take stern action and file cases under Goonda Act against the accused under call money cum sex racket scandal. Addressing a press conference here on Sunday, Ramakrishna alleged that State government has been diluting the case by making attempts to falsely implicate leaders from other parties to bail out the TDP leaders, who are involved in the scam.

He said that denizens of Vijayawada are in a state of fear with the recent financial scams and mafia gangs in the city, though the Chief Minister was running the State administration from the city. He made it clear that the party would extend complete support to the State government in the investigation into the case. Three partymen, whose names were announced by the Chief Minister in State Assembly as accused in the scam, were not the actual partymen of CPI, he claimed. The CPI leader also challenged the Chief Minister to prove his commitment to safeguard the women and victims by punishing the responsible. The Chief Minister should control his partymen at least and reveal the names of all the accused in front of public and facilitate transparent investigation into the case, he demanded.

Ramakrishna also wanted the Chief Minister to accord time for discussing the people’s problems in the next two days of the winter Assembly sessions, instead of diluting the session over commenting on unimportant issues. The CPI leader also opposed the one-year suspension of YSR Congress Party MLA RK Roja from the House. The Speaker should revoke the suspension and admit her for further sessions of the house, he said. Later, Ramakrishna along with party State executive committee member Ravula Venkaiah, party district secretary Akkineni Vanaja and city secretary Donepudi Shankar released the poster of party 90th formation day celebrations.
