The popular Telugu news channel HMTV on Saturday launched its prestigious “Dasa-Disa” programme to elicit fresh ideas on the development of Andhra Pradesh.
• Channel plans to hold the programme in all 13 districts and other important places in the State
• Representation will be submitted to the government with the suggestions given by the people for the development of the State
The popular Telugu news channel HMTV on Saturday launched its prestigious “Dasa-Disa” programme to elicit fresh ideas on the development of Andhra Pradesh. Former bureaucrat and former legislator Dr Jayaprakash Narayan conducted the programme drawing views from a cross section of people.
Launching the programme, HMTV editor Venkata Krishna said that the programme was aimed to educe opinions from the people from different walks of life, on the development of Andhra Pradesh after bifurcation. He said that they would also hold the programme in all 13 districts and some other important places in the State.
He added that they would also submit a representation to the State government with the views expressed and suggestions given by the people for the development of the State.
Jayaprakash Narayan said that the State has abundant resources and bifurcation was an opportunity for the people to develop the State. He wanted people to take everything that happens in the positive sense and work for the State.
He said Andhra Pradesh, particularly Amaravati region, has the great potential with successful people in the fields of education, health and other activities. He wanted them all to work for the development of the new State.
Farmers’ leaders Yerneni Nagendranath and M V S Nagi Reddy wanted the government to focus on agriculture development on par with the industrial development.
The CPI State secretary K Ramakrishna, CPM State secretary P Madhu, Andhra Intellectuals Forum convener Chalasani Srinivas, AP Civil Society co-convener Ch Subba Raju, AP Mahila Congress president Sunkara Padmasri, AP Youth Congress president Devineni Avinash and others spoke highlighting the positive aspects of Andhra Pradesh and wanted the government to distribute the fruits of development equally to all the 13 districts.
Earlier, HMTV had presented a documentary on the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and problems facing the residual Andhra Pradesh.
