Former mayor and Telugu Desam spokesperson Tadi Sakunthala on Thursday asked the actress-turned-YSR Congress legislator, R K Roja, to behave properly and not to bring disgrace to the Assembly.

Speaking to media persons here, Sakunthala took strong exception to the ‘derogatory’ behaviour of the legislator on the floor of the Assembly. She advised the legislator not to use abusive language in the Assembly. “Being a woman, she should learn to respect other women,” she said. She said Roja’s derogatory remarks had hurt the TDP legislator V Anitha who broke down in the Assembly. The TDP leader wondered why Roja and her party leaders were silent on the involvement of the YSR Congress leaders in the call money sex racket case. Stating that the Chief Minister, N Chandrababu Naidu, had reacted swiftly on the case and had brought the accused to book doing justice to the women in the sex racket, Sakunthala sought to advise Roja to respect the Chief Minister.

She expressed concern over the members wasting the precious time of the Assembly and wanted the Opposition to use the floor of the Assembly to address the issues concerning the people. Stating that the women leaders from the State were upset with the behavior of Roja, the former mayor said that they would approach the Human Rights Commission against Roja’s derogatory remarks.
