The state government released a detailed master plan comprising 350 pages for the development of Amaravati capital city on Saturday night.

Vijayawada: The state government released a detailed master plan comprising 350 pages for the development of Amaravati capital city on Saturday night.

As per the master plan, the total area of the capital city would be 217km falling in 25 revenue villages in which lands were taken by the government under the land pooling scheme.

The master plan has proposed grid pattern for roads in capital city. Major arterial, minor arterial and collector roads were proposed. Public transport is proposed along the minor arterial roads.

Blue and green plan suggests development of canals, tanks and greenery in the capital city.

The capital city is divided into nine economic theme cities, including government, finance, tourism, knowledge, health, electronics, media, justice and sports.

Access to express highway and arterial roads is restricted. Flood management plan is included in the master plan to deal with floods due to Kondaveeti vagu.

Separate allocation is made for returnable lands under the LPS both in residential use and commercial use.

It is said that the release of master plan is delayed due to changes in the master plan though people of the capital region are eagerly waiting for the master plan since morning. The villagers can raise objections if any within one month after the release of the master plan.
