Kakinada : Five fishermen who were stranded in mid-sea due to a technical snag in their boat were rescued by the Coast Guard personnel, said Deputy Director of Fisheries Kanaka Raju here on Sunday. He said that the fishermen left for sea on December 10 and were scheduled to return by December 15.
Since they did not arrive, a Coast Guard boat conducted a thorough search in the sea and located them. They brought the fishermen safely to the shore last night by towing the boat to Kakinada, he added. He said that the boat was handed over to its owner in the presence of fisheries department officials.
