Srikakulam: Mild tremors were reported from Ponduru and Etcherla mandals in Srikakulam district on Sunday, second-time in a span of four days.

According to details available, the tremors were felt at 1.55 PM on Sunday at Pillalavalasa, Dharmapuram, Kanimetta, Tholapi villages in Ponduru mandal and Police quarters area, SM Puram, Fareedpeta, Kusalapuram villages in Etcherla mandal. The tremors were felt about three to five seconds.
No damages were reported from any village, and local revenue officials and police are put on alert. On 24 December evening too mild tremors were reported from Srikakulam town, Etcherla and Ponduru mandals.
Speaking to The Hans India, G.Varaha Narasimhulu a private school teacher in Srikakulam and resident of Pillalavalasa in Ponduru mandal said that they came running outside when they had experienced tremeors and utensils fell down in their house.
“We alerted each other noticing chairs and materials in our house began shaking. We came running outside onto the roads,” said P.Annaji, a resident of Tholapi village in Ponduru mandal.
