Kakinada: The Joint Action Committee consisting of YSRC, CPM and CPI ( ML) leaders exuded confidence over conduct of farmers’ meet at Srirampuram village suburbs in U-Kothapalli mandal of East Godavari district on Tuesday.

It may be recalled here that the date December 29 assumes significance as the land acquisition process for KSEZ was started in 2004 on the same day.
Representatives of the three parties, former MLA and YSRCP leader Pendem Dorababu, CPM East Godavari district unit secretary D Seshu Babji and CPI (ML) representative V Ramanna took a decision to conduct the meeting after reviewing the latest position at the meet organised at R&B guest house here on Monday.
“We are prepared to conduct the farmers’ meet at any cost”, the leaders made it clear on Monday after the conduct of the joint meet.
Meanwhile, the KSEZ Vyatireka Porata Committee (VPC) leaders numbering 13 who were arrested and sent to remand on Saturday (December 26) were denied bail on Monday on the grounds that the sections booked by police are non-bailable.
According to details available, the Pithapuram police booked case on VPC activists as per crime number 181/2015 under IPC sections 447,427,379 and 506 on a complaint by KSEZ operators, GMR in regard to the damage caused to their property worth Rs 25 lakh.
