Tirupati: In a sensational robbery, Rs 30 lakh was stolen from a stationary car in the pilgrim city in broad day light on Wednesday.

According to preliminary investigation, the robber managed to steal the cash bag in the rear seat by diverting the attention of the driver. Police say that the unidentified miscreant in an apparent move to rob the cash alerted Bhanu, an accountant, about currency notes beneath
the vehicle.
Bhanu, who got down to check found nothing and while he got back to his seat, the bag was found missing. Bhanu is working as accountant in Sarangi Hotel, Tirumala ,and was taking the cash along with manager Mohan to Bengaluru.
Mohan got down at Sridevi complex, a busy commercial area on Tilak Road, to attend a personal errand, leaving Bhanu in the car. Additional SP (crime) inspected the area and clues team was also pressed into service.
The robbery which took place in the afternoon, in busy commercial area created flutter in the town. Police registered a case and investigation is on.
