Many traders and people joined his protest. Reddy reached the office in a rally from his residence.

Addressing the protestors, the RPS chief alleged that there was no development in Nandikotkur after it was upgraded into a municipality.
There was more development when it was a panchayat. He claimed that the civic body had fixed a tax revenue target of Rs.20 crore.
Reddy questioned the rationale in taxing places of worship of Muslims, Christians and Hindus. While calling upon the people not to pay the taxes, he remarked that if the levies continued to be raised the public won’t be able to pay.
He accused Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu of focussing attention only on Amaravati while neglecting the interests of Rayalaseema.
Reddy claimed that the government was trying to forcibly snatch the hard earned assets of the people.
