Call for focus on education of tribals

Chagalamarri (Kurnool): AP Tribal Welfare Residential Educational Institutions Society Joint Secretary Devara Vasu inspected Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya here on Tuesday.
Speaking on the occasion, he said Rs 107 crore was being spent per annum for the educational development of tribal children.
The government is running 136 gurukul schools, 48 Kasturba Gandhi Vidyalayas, 43 residential schools, 38 residential colleges and 12 mini-Gurukul schools in the State.
The total student strength of the tribal educational institutions is 42,000. About 7,000 tribal students would appear for SSC examinations from the educational institutions this academic year.
