Speaking on the occasion, the temple EO said that the ‘Bhavani Deeksha Viramana’ is the second biggest annual event at the temple after Dasara. “We are expecting nearly 8 lakh devotees to visit the shrine for the relinquishment of the deeksha. The rush of devotees is expected to reach its peak on Friday and Saturday and the temple authorities have accordingly made necessary arrangements. The temple authorities have decided to open darshan for the devotees from 3 a.m. to 11 p.m., following the same schedule for the remaining days, he said.
The temple EO said that elaborate arrangements have been made by the temple management for the convenience of devotees. He said that drinking water and other such arrangements have been made by voluntary organisations.
“Devasthanam has made arrangements to supply as many laddus as possible to the devotees this time and opened 20 counters considering the past experience of dissatisfaction among the devotees of not getting enough laddus. The temple authorities are also serving sumptuous meal at the temple and at Shrungeri Peetham in Mallikarjunapet. Under the scheme, the temple offers free food to 5,000 devotees a day,” he added.
Free buses were arranged from railway station and bus station for the convenience of the devotees. Special medical camps were arranged on the hill and down the temple premises to tackle any emergency, said the temple EO.
