Speaking to media persons at the meet organised at police guest house in Kakinada on Thursday, the SP said that special teams were formed to keep constant vigil on the activity in the entire district.
When asked about the online display and sale of cocks for cock- fight, a latest trend which picked up momentum in the last two months, the SP said that the sale of cocks was not an offence, but tying knife to engage in fights was an offence. “We will keep a close watch on this also,” the SP clarified.
The SP also said that the conduct obscene dances during New Year and during Sankranti would be dealt sternly. Cases would be booked against both organisers and participants, he said.
The SP on this occasion made it clear that only permitted events would be allowed to conduct and event organisers should make a note of this. He said that timings and sale of liquor during festival season would also be observed.

The SP also said that special focus is being laid on Amalapuram area during New Year and Sankranti in view of some disturbances noticed among youth in the recent past. Additional SP, A R Damodar and Kakinada SDPO, S Venkateswara Rao were present.
