District Ministers, MLA\'s and officials have launched the third phase of Janma Bhoomi-Maa Vooru in their respective Assembly constituencies on Saturday.

Guntur: District Ministers, MLA's and officials have launched the third phase of Janma Bhoomi-Maa Vooru in their respective Assembly constituencies on Saturday. The state government had launched the programme throughout the state with the objective of reviewing the decisions taken in the earlier phases of the Janma Bhoomi programme and also to attend to people's grievances on the spot. Officials and people's representatives will use the platform to popularise the government schemes and to review progress of schemes under execution.

The Janma Bhoomi programme will be implemented in 57 mandals and 13 municipalities in the district. Flagship programmes of the government including Badi Pilusthundi, desiltation of irrigation tanks, cement roads laying, tree plantation and particularly the village adoption programme will be monitored by the officials and people's representatives. Sinking of harvesting pits and cleaning of village drinking water tanks and Swachh Bharath programme will form part of the programme from January 2 to11.

Social and Tribal Welfare Minister Ravela Kishore Babu started the programme at Vengalayapalem in Prattipadu constituency. Speaking on the ocassion, Ravela appealed to the participants to extend their cooperation in successfully implementing the village adoption programme aimed at the integrated development of villages.

The government, he said, was committed to develop every village and ward in the district. He revealed that Rs 3,000 crore had been sanctioned for the development of SC,ST colonies and for laying cement roads in the colonies. He said that Rs 100 crore alone had been allocated for laying cement roads in all the SC, ST colonies in the district.

The Minister said that the government was taking steps for recharging of ground water in the district so that anyone can sink a bore at 8 metre depth during any season of the year. This would help in getting water with ease. It will be just three metre depth during rainy season to get water. The Ministers and people's representatives will be accessible to people during the remaining 10 days of Janmabbhoomi programme.
