CP Launches Amaravati Marathon App
Launching the mobile application (app) for android smartphones of the Amaravati Marathon at his office on Wednesday, Police Commissioner D Gautham Sawang called out to the young and adults of the city and capital region to take part in the marathon.
Launching the mobile application (app) for android smartphones of the Amaravati Marathon at his office on Wednesday, Police Commissioner D Gautham Sawang called out to the young and adults of the city and capital region to take part in the marathon.
The Commissioner stressed on the need for physical activity and participation in social events. “Amaravati marathon is an opportunity for the people of the city to unite and run for a cause. Such events will take out awareness on a topic to larger number of public and will awaken them,” he said.
Event organiser, Dr V Madhu of Disease Eradication through Education and Prevention (DEEP) an NGO said that the app contains the details of marathon including that of the route and help centers, besides others.
He said participants would be given a time chip, which would keep record of the movement of participant during the marathon run. “All arrangements are being made on par with marathons in Metro cities,” he added.
DGP JV Ramudu, sports personalities from the city, industrialists, doctors and other influential personalities will take part in the event. The run is going to be held on January 10.
