The all India Handicrafts Exhibition cum sales under the title ‘Gandhi Shilp Bazar’, organised by the Shilparamam Arts, Crafts and Cultural Society and Development Commissioner of Handicrafts is going to unfold at Amma Kalyana Mandapam hall from January 8.

The all India Handicrafts Exhibition cum sales under the title ‘Gandhi Shilp Bazar’, organised by the Shilparamam Arts, Crafts and Cultural Society and Development Commissioner of Handicrafts is going to unfold at Amma Kalyana Mandapam hall from January 8. The motive behind the Shilp Bazar is to bring the artisans from across the country under single platform to meet the customers directly.

Addressing the media on Wednesday, Assistant Director of Handicrafts department, KR Murali Krishna said that about 100 different artisans from 20 States of the country will take part in the event showcasing their products. “To eliminate middle men and make sure the benefit the manufacturers, the show has been planned,” he said.

The General Manager of Shilparamam, PGS Sai said that the expo will showcase collection of exquisite crafts like Pattachitra, silver filigree, Pearls jewellery, glass jewellery, art metal works, lacquer ware toys, kondapalli toys, lac bangles, dhokra castling, kalamkari, tie and dye, Tanjore paintings, woolen carpets, stone carving, pottery, terracotta and more. A poster in connection of the event was released.
