The Civil Engineering Department of VR Siddhartha Engineering College will be organising one-day national fest ‘SMART INFR-EST’ tomorrow.
In a statement issued on Wednesday, the head of civil department, Dr Chava Srinivas said “P Surya Prakash, managing director of Satyavani Projects and Consultants will deliver his key note address on ‘Smart Buildings and Communities’ as part of the inaugural session.
Meanwhile B Satyam, managing director, Neo Silica Technologies would speak on ‘ Smart Grids’, BSC Rao, Former ED, BMRCL and Expert in Singapore metro rail will speak on ‘Urban Transportation and Smart Cities’ and a resource person from L&T will speak on ‘Smart Constructions.
The aim of the event is to develop a basic idea on smart and sustainable cities and also to encourage creative skills among the graduates through various competitions conducted as part of the fest.” “The graduate students of all engineering disciplines are eligible to attend the fest. A total of eleven competitions will be conducted as part of the fest to stimulate creative skills among the students, where prize money of Rs 1 lakh would be awarded to the winners” he said.
