Ten classical vocal concerts and one flute concert were performed on the second day of music festival organised by Vijayawada Music Academy at Ghatasala Venkateswara Rao Music and Dance College.

The festival commenced with a vocal duet by P Supriya and TLV Valli. The artistes impressed the audience with their smooth voice which was supported instrumentally by VSPG Shivani (violin) and N Shivasankar (mrudangam). The concert was followed by a performance by Shaik Chinnalalu Sahab from Macherla and the students of music college Vijayawada.

The vocal concert of B Pavancharan from Hyderabad concluded the event. Pavan rendered the Thyagaraja Swamy compositions in Kapi, Kalyani and Aarali ragas.
During the evening session of second day of the festival Kuppa Pradyumna and B Mounina from Vijayawada sang the “Aadamodigalade” keerthana in Charukesi ragam and she continued their vocal duet with “Vadanadyuti” in Pantuvarali ragam. VSPG Shivani supported this concert with her fine-tuned violin and M Vijayakumar on Mrudangam.

TKVM Vamsidhar from Vuyyuru saturated vocal concert with “Sri Raghu kulamandu” Keerthana in hamsadwani ragam and continued with “Apparamabhakthi” and “Marugelara” keerthanas. This was supported by Ramya Kiranmayi on violin and KV Kishore on mrudangam.

Changanti Ramya Kiranmayi from Visakhapatnam sang saint Thyagarajaswamy keerthanas “nee chittamu nirmalamu”, “Emi neramu” and “Navaneeta chora” and attracted the audience. Mandha Ramya ably supported with violin and B Suresh Babu on mrudangam. The unique flute concert of K Uma Venkateswarlu from Hyderabad impressed the gathering.

The keerthanas “ Vidajaladura” in Janaranjani ragam, “sogasuga” in Sri Ranjani ragam, Yevarura in Mohana ragam were proficiently played by the artiste. The concert was supported by K Sbrahmanya Raju on violin, K. Sadgurucharan on Mrudangam and M Hari Babu on Ghatam.

Swathi Sri Krishna (from Chennai) extraordinarily started her vocal concert with “Sarasasamadan” keerthana in Kapinarayani ragam. She continued the same tempo and presented the other keerthanas “Enduko Bagateliyadu” in Mohana ragam, and “Deva Sri Tapathirtha” keethana. Mandha Sri Ramya on violin, Parupalli Bala subrahmanyam on Mrudangam and M. Hari Babu on ghatam supported the concert.

The second day festival ended with the programme, “Divyanama sankeerhtana ganam” presented by Popuri Gowrinath, Popuri Gayatri with the instrumental support of Popuri Charumathi Pallavi (violin) and Popuri Sriramacharan (Mrudangam). Seeram Subrahmanyam, N Ch B Acharya, Prasad and others also performed.
