Members of Krishna District Bank Employees Coordination Committee has observed a one-day strike at State Bank of Hyderabad (SBH) branch, Patamata, here on Friday against the unfair policies adopted by SBI with respect to its five associate banks. The committee has participated in the protest following the nationwide strike call given by the All India Bank Employees Association (AIBEA).

Vijayawada: Members of Krishna District Bank Employees Coordination Committee has observed a one-day strike at State Bank of Hyderabad (SBH) branch, Patamata, here on Friday against the unfair policies adopted by SBI with respect to its five associate banks. The committee has participated in the protest following the nationwide strike call given by the All India Bank Employees Association (AIBEA).

Addressing a gathering, Vijayawada Bank Employees Coordination Committee (VBECC) secretary K Nagesh Kumar alleged that management of the associate banks of State Bank of India (SBI) persisting with their illegal stand and rejecting the Chief Labour Commission (CLC) advice to put on hold on the implementation of Career Progression Scheme (CPS) and finding an amicable solution through mutual discussion.

Nagesh Kumar demanded the management of the SBI to withdraw their attempts to force unilateral service conditions on the employees. Meanwhile, majority of the banks across the city wore a deserted look and customer services hit hard following the strike call given by the AIBEA.

The Andhra Pradesh Bank Employees Federation (APBEF) Vice-president Ch Hanumanth Rao, deputy general secretaries Kondala Rao, Ranga Rao and Syed Iqbal, Chandrasekhar of SBH, Nageswar Rao of SBT and other leaders also took part in the protest.
