Addressing the news persons, Managing director of the showroom V Jogulamba said, “This arrangement is a bid to promote the culture in its true way and support the artisans.

To put in practice the fading tradition of Bommala Koluvu and to revive the art of Kondapalli toys, Tanishq showroom has sent out messages to their customers to ensure that they organise one at their homes on the festival and buy a Kondapalli toy. A large set up of toys depicting patriotic and traditional themes were set up amidst the diamond and gold ornaments in the showroom here on Wednesday.

Addressing the news persons, Managing director of the showroom V Jogulamba said, “This arrangement is a bid to promote the culture in its true way and support the artisans. As a part of our corporate social responsibility, we have sent messages to the customers to contribute to the Kondapalli craft which is famous over the world but is slightly looked down in our region. The Bommala Koluvu will not only continue to put up the tradition but will encourage the artisans’’.

Toys depicting various aspects in Ramayana and Krishna Leela along with music troupe, instruments, bride in the palanquin, figures of the national leaders, animals, birds, statues of idols, idols depicting the market place, a happy home, vegetable vendors, tribal figures, Lord Krishna with gopikalu and a few were arranged in rows at the showroom on the occasion. This is an attempt to bring life to the festival celebrations that are becoming more materialised, she added.
