Anantapur: Zilla Parishad Chairman Chaman Saab on Saturday inaugurated a Pulse Polio awareness rally organised by the District Medical and Health Department from the Arts College to Saptagiri Circle, in which several officials and representatives of NGOs took part.

Addressing the participants, Chaman Saab called for efforts by all to make the Pulse Polio programme on January 17 successful. He said all children below five years should be administered the drops, with active participation of people, employees and voluntary organisations. “Everyone should take up the programme to root out Polio as their responsibility,” he stated.

Joint Collector II Syed Khaja Mohiuddin appealed to all sections of people to cooperate to make the Pulse Polio drive successful. He administered pledge to the gathering.

Among those who took part in the rally were in-chage DMHO Dr Venkatramana, Additional DMHO Dr Pratap, State coordinator Dr J V V R K Prasad, Dr David Damodaram, Dr Sujata, Dr Vijayamma, Dr Gangadhar Reddy, Harileela Kumari, District Medical Officer, Gangadhar, Nagaraju, Allabaksh, ICDS supervisors, health staff, Rotary Club representative Shamsheer and voluntary organisations.
