Saptagiri Grameena Bank (SGB) has introduced micro-ATMs in its 179 branches spread across Chittoor and Krishna districts to provide biometric-enabled withdrawal and payment services to the customers.

Chittoor: Saptagiri Grameena Bank (SGB) has introduced micro-ATMs in its 179 branches spread across Chittoor and Krishna districts to provide biometric-enabled withdrawal and payment services to the customers. SGB Chairman B Suribabu said that customers of the bank can deposit or withdraw funds through micro-ATMs in two districts.

The SGB Chairman launched a micro-ATM service at SGB’s main branch in the city on Saturday. Speaking on the occasion, he said that 280 business correspondents would operate the micro-ATMs in two districts. “Customers can withdraw or deposit funds through micro-ATMs by submitting their Aadhaar numbers which were given while opening bank accounts,” he said. He made an appeal to the customers to make use of micro-ATM services with the devises available with business correspondents. He added that one more new branch would be opened at KG Satram in Chittoor district on January 18.

The Chairman said that the SGB has disbursed Rs 2,842 crore loans under the priority lending sector. Suribabu said that the SGB is extending loans to traders, who are running super markets, jewellery, electrical and furniture shops with hassle-free documentation. He said that they are providing housing loans for salaried employees, traders and professionals under the Saptagiri Swagruha Housing Loan scheme. SGB Chief Manager B N Nageswara Rao, Regional Manager N Manikyam Setty, Senior Manager (Financial Inclusion) P Sridevi and other bank officials were present.
