Hyderabad: Justice Vilas Afzulpurkar of the High Court at Hyderabad on Wednesday stayed further proceedings on the tender notification to lay a 525-km pipeline from Kakinada to Nellore.
The judge admitted a writ plea filed by Andhra Pradesh Gas Distribution Corporation Ltd (APGDC) questioning the notification issued by the Petroleum and Natural Gas Regulatory Board (PNGRB) in July last year.
It is the case of the APGDC that such a pipeline was not required and that it could use the grossly underutilised pipeline of the Reliance. The petitioner would further contended that it would take needless time and run through paddy fields.
