Davos: Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Saturday recalled his association with the Dominic Barton, Global CEO McKinsey & Co during 1996-97. He said McKinsey had played a vital role in united Andhra Pradesh for charting Vision 2020.

Since McKinsey is serving as consultant to the State government to help mobilise private and global financing for Amaravati, Barton said that they would bring in best practices for structuring the city and market tourism and investment potential. Prakash Lohia of Indorama Synthetics met the Chief Minister and evinced interest to invest $500 million in the State.

He said that Indorama is the largest producers of plastic bottles and surgical gloves in the world. The Chief Minister responded positively and promised full support. A team from Indorama will visit the State in March to conduct a study. Besides, the Chief Minister also had a meeting with John T Chambers, Executive Chairman, CISCO, here.

He said that CISCO will set up a working group consisting of two sides: to study the requirements and the opportunities. Explaining various e-initiatives launched by the State government, the Chief Minister said that he aims to provide 15 to 20 Mbps connection to each household. In other meetings, Naidu asked Michael Coyle, Medtronic to prepare a comprehensive proposal in providing effective cardio-health services to BPL and APL families in the State.
