Hyderabad: The AP cabinet, which will meet in Vijayawada on Monday, is likely to discuss, Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu’s visit to Davos, the outcome of CII partnership summit, CM’s visit to Singapore for selection of master developer for capital city and the issue of inclusion of Kapu’s in backward classes list.

Naidu’s visit to Singapore assumes importance as the farmers of the capital region have been protesting against the master plan. The Chief Minister would be briefing his colleagues about his meeting with Singapore officials involved in the preparation of the master plan.

With Kapu organisations planning to organise a meeting at Vijayawada demanding their inclusion in the BC category on Sunday, the Cabinet is expected to discuss the issue and work out a strategy to blunt the agitation. Since, there is demand for inclusion of Kapus within the party; few members from the community in the Cabinet might also raise the issue during the meeting.

With sand mining policy coming into effect from February 1, the State Cabinet is likely to discuss the pros and cons of the new policy as the previous policy came under attack from opposition parties for its lack of transparency and corruption charges. The issue of hike in power tariff proposed by the power utilities is also likely to come up for discussion.
